Lead Testing
Soil Testing (SoilSHOP): Ramsey County Public Health and the Minnesota Department are hosting a Soil Screening, Health, Outreach, and Partnership (SoilSHOP) on July 15, 2025 at the Eastside YMCA. Saint Paul residents can bring soil samples from their gardens or yards to be tested for lead, free of charge. Your address will not be recorded, so your personal information will remain private.
Blood Lead Testing: Talk to your doctor about getting blood lead testing. This won’t tell you if lead has settled into your bones or tissues, but it can indicate if you have recently been exposed.
You can also get free blood testing from the East Side Neighborhood Development Company
Asthma Resources
Ramsey County offers free resources for families with children that are diagnosed with asthma, including HEPA air cleaners and HEPA vacuums.

Tell your Story. The community’s voices are powerful. Your report may help community medical screenings, environmental investigations, and cleanup efforts. As more and more of us talk to each other, we find out we are not alone. You can submit your story here.
Reporting health issues not only protects your family, it helps your neighbors, your children’s friends, your pets, and future generations who live, work, play and go to school on the Eastside of Saint Paul. Environmental injustice thrives when we are silent. Let’s speak up and be heard.
